From Alexios, Summer 1222
> To <each Junior Mage of the Stonehenge Tribunal invited to partake in the Order of the Spheres Research>, Alexios Kaloethes of the Schola Pythagoranis sends greetings and respects.

> I trust you continue well and prosperously and look forward to working with you over the next years when looking into the magic of the Order of the Spheres that my sodales and I have previously corresponded with you on.

> One thing that I am aware of when it comes to such things is that my own knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of hermetic magic does not exactly approach mastery. Such mastery of our current knowledge seems likely to be important when it comes to working out how to incorporate any insights from these ancients that we might discover.

> In the initial phases of our own investigations, my sodales and I came across a summa of magic theory by an unknown mage who started his own investigations into these magics but died before he completed his work. It is, somewhat arrogantly to my mind, entitled “Improvements to Bonisagus’ Theory of Magic, whether it actually has improvements within it I cannot tell you, but from my initial look, it certainly has some interesting new perspectives that are relevant to the work we wish to undertake.

> Taking my last two points together and in the spirit of cooperation that we in the Schola wish to foster among us, I wanted to offer all of you the opportunity to join in studying this book. To do this, you are cordially invited to join me and my sodales that will be reading and discussing this book together in the Winter of this year, the twelve hundred and twenty second of our Lord. I intend to continue this on a yearly basis for a while and then when we feel that we have finished with that text to continue with others; we have other potential texts in the Scholas’s library and between us, we might be able to find even better sources of knowledge.

> I should note that there are limits to the numbers that we can accommodate in such a group, generally I expect that there will be around three and five spare . As you will all appreciate, the text and facilities belong to my sodales and I jointly and as such they must have first call upon the resources as they wish. As such, this time I intend to allocate numbers outside of my own covenant to those who first respond requesting a place. Later, I will rotate so that anyone interested has at least one opportunity to join. Other than that, I intend to allocate places to those who contribute most to the insight and discussion so as to benefit us all the most.

> I hope very much that you are interested in this endeavor and to hear from you soon. I remain yours in amity and brotherhood in the Order, Alexios of the Order of Hermes.
