There’s been more than one “landing page” around the web which links to the PuTTY website. putty.software is an official one, run by the PuTTY team.

This site isn’t a domain squatter?

That’s right. The domain putty.software is run by the actual PuTTY development team. We’re not trying to advertise unrelated proprietary software at you, or change our content unexpectedly.

If the PuTTY team owns this domain, shouldn’t it be the main web page?

Yes. We plan to move the main site here in future. But we want to give people some warning first, and give them some time to update links. We don’t want anyone thinking PuTTY has been hacked, or taken over, or stolen.
