I had mixed feelings about this. It's valid information, but it is 
checking for an optional feature. I have decided to remove the warning 
about inittab.d not being found, but have left in status messages about 
reading .tab files inside that directory.

Agreed. I've added a note about this in our inittab manual page.

Agreed. I'm removing this line upstream.


I think that covers everything. These fixes and the updated 
documentation will be in SysV init version 3.16
