I think it would be equivalent to the sense of compatibility that's
relevant when deciding whether two utilities can share a name managed by
the alternatives system?  So, a utility which behaves the same as
cjwatson-which when invoked in the ways in which cjwatson-which is
validly invoked, possibly with some additional command line switches and
the like.
