[PATCH 0/9] fixes and new features for init-d-script (v2)

hello,

I have reworked a bit the patches to have more coherent commits,
documentation and some more fixes

to ease the review:
- old patches 2-3 are merged to new patch 2
- old 4-9 are merged to new 3
- old 11 is splitted to new 5-6

most of changes are added to the commit message

please to tell me if some of the code needs more descriptive commit
messages or inline comments
