I’m not actually a sysvinit fan. I’m a BSD person.

sysvinit is just the least evil on GNU systems,
and in addition, thanks to its long presence,
well enough understood by enough people for it
to be the right choice, given both the benefits
and the shortcomings of other systems.

I do occasionally enhance both BSD and GNU with dæmontools, though.
