Ty Croes sign

Ty Croes is a few miles from nearby Bodorgan so made a pleasant walk on a dull afternoon. Fortunately there was just enough time to explore this - another station in the middle of nowhere - before the heavens opened:

The end of my walk as the road approaches the Ty Croes level crossing:

We arrive at the rear of the signalbox on the right. The crossing over the line is of the old gated type that has to be opened and closed by the signaller:

Across the road from the signalbox is another building, presumably once part of the railway:

A gate by this building leads to platform 1 for trains towards Bangor:

Looking along platform 1:

The paved bit of platform is quite narrow, with most of it given over to grass. A notch in the wall suggests where a previous shelter might have been:

Wooden steps sit on the platform to help bridge the gap to trains:

Before we return to the crossing, a view east along the line from the end of platform 1:

Back at the level crossing, looking west at the signalbox and level crossing gates:

As we enter the westbound platform 2 we see the signalbox:

On platform 2, the brick shelter was welcome when it started to rain!
