Although we visited as part of a trip to Manchester, New Mills is actually in Derbyshire, and has two stations. This one, Central, is on the line to Sheffield, while New Mills Newtown is on the line to Buxton.
The station is a short way to the west of the town on the north side of the valley. The entrance to the station and platform 1 from Station Road:

Next to the footbridge is a sign telling us that New Mills Central is for the Torrs Millennium Walkway, which connects the two ends of the Torrs gorge:
