After a weekend visiting a friend in Edinburgh and doing some of the touristy things the city has to offer I wandered around Waverley taking a few photos. The entrance to Waverley on the south side of the station, from Market Street:

The entrance leads down some steps to a bridge which spans the tracks:

The first platform you cross entering from the south side of the station is platform 8, here looking east:

Next along is platform 9, with the North Bridge visible:

Just east of the concourse is the station building at the heart of the roofed complex which has an impressive ticket hall with an impressive domed roof:

The second exit ramp, this one on the north side of the concourse area is just for service vehicles:

The escalators lead to a second bridge which leads out of the north side of the station up Waverley Steps to Princes Street:

In the vast space behind the station building squats the Operations Depot with wwalls that look like they want to be laminate flooring when they grow up:

On the other side of the operations depot is the east-facing bay platform 4:
