Bolton-upon-Dearne station has been in its current location for many years, and it's clear from nearby new-builds that the village has expanded to meet it. The line here to Wakefield Westgate runs approximately north-south to the east of the village, with pedestrian access from Station Road. From Station Road, one path leads down to the car park and one to a footbridge to the other platform, while the road bridge crosses the line to the right:
