Wansford is the headquarters of the Nene Valley Railway with a line running back to Peterborough. Unfortunately the old LNWR building at the station remains in private hands:

Since they couldn't afford to buy the old station building, the NVR bought a new one to house its gift shop and cafe:

The level crossing is controlled by a signal box where the signallers on duty were more than happy to explain things to me.
