With only a single line going from Norwich to Sheringham, BR hardly needed the huge original station at Sheringham; that now serves as the headquarters for the North Norfolk Railway. Instead, the BR station is a single platform with a bus shelter.

The line used to continue over this road, and there are still long-term plans to connect the NNR to the national rail network, but the road is busy and a level crossing would not be cheap...
