Mauldeth Road station is the nearest to Manchester Piccadilly on its line, and serves the Ladybarn area of Manchester. Although the station has been refurbished recently it's still very basic: two elevated platforms accessed by ramps either side of a rail bridge over the road.

A small brick building serves as a ticket office, sometimes, although not when we visited:
