What is Martin's Hell Bash, anyway?

The Current Version

There has not yet been a release of Martin's Hell Bash; please come back later.

History

Martin's Hell Bash is an increasingly distant descendant of my first released roguelike, "Martin's Seven-Day Roguelike" aka "MPR7DRL". In turn, I took that project (which had some pretty nasty bugs) and released a bugfix version as "Martin's Dungeon Bash".

Martin's Dungeon Bash has been through several updates since then; the latest version as of this writing is version 1.6. I regard Martin's Dungeon Bash as basically a finished project; modulo bug fixes, there will never be a new version of Martin's Dungeon Bash.

With Martin's Hell Bash, I have taken the Martin's Dungeon Bash source code, converted it to C++, and begun applying the second-system effect. Hopefully, I will resist the temptation to indulge in the worst excesses of second-system effect.

Discussing Martin's Hell Bash

Martin's Hell Bash is best discussed in the newsgroup rec.games.roguelike.misc. You can discuss it elsewhere, of course, but I almost certainly won't see those discussions. As I am allergic to "web boards", there will not at any time be an official Martin's Dungeon Bash web forum.

Please put "-MPRHB-" in the Subject: header of posts to RGRM about Martin's Hell Bash; this will make everyone's life more pleasant.

Plans For Future Development

Martin's Hell Bash is actively in development at present.
