Andrea's need to get away was fast dominating her thinking, and she was struggling to follow the conversation. Nancy's accent wasn't the easiest in the world to follow, and the enforced french had put even more stress on an already difficult situation.
She forced herself to stay calm, trying to avoid the inevitable panic attack, and was relieved to see Renata return.
She asked where the toilet was, and, as she expected, Renata offered to show her there.

"They're lovely, those two, aren't they. My Grandmother was one of the foundation stones as well - my mother married very late indeed, well they both did."
"What are you studying?"
"I'm doing my IB, but I want to be a sports coach. Dad says it's a waste, that i'll change my mind. I'm to do the BG coaching course when I turn 18, and then I start at Millie's, doing a physio course - that's what i'm doing here, looking at the physio that we offer to the residents, and doing care work."
Andy nodded, pleased to have picked up such an enthusiastic student. She could well understand the anti-ambition, and felt herself warm to the girl.
"What about you?"
"I kind of fell into it by accident, really. Is this the door?"
Renata looked a little embarrassed, and moved aside to let Andrea go past, fully on her dignity as mistress of the Chalet School.

Andrea sat on the loo and lost herself in thought, only to be pulled up by a bird song outside. She suddenly became anxious that she would be seen as evading the Chaletians.

She stood up rapidly, and emerged slightly dishevelled, which led Renata to wonder what on earth her new instructor had been doing in there.

Andrea returned to the little sitting room to find that they had been joined by Fr Christian, the Catholic Chaplain at the school. They were introduced, and then all fell into German, as that was what he was most comfortable conversing in.

Joey watched as he address Andrea. She explained that she was a Methodist, but enjoyed Catholic worship from time to time and had been to Taize. At this the priest seemed quite animated, explaining that he had a Taize group in the school, and that they organised visits regularly. They had even gone there as an expedition one time.

Forgetting herself, Andy told him how she'd gone to Warsaw for the European Meeting, and they found they'd been staying in neightbouring parishes. But just as Joey thought she might have been about to find out some more about Fraulein Witterson, Renata called him to the bedside of one of the other residents.

Relieved, Andrea felt she could reasonably leave, and headed back into the warm evening, glad that the ordeal was over. You couldn't help feeling something around Joey, and Andrea wasn't sure she wanted to feel it.

She ran into Angelika, or rather into her legs, and those of an unnamed companion, that seemed to be entwined. The yelp told her who she had disturbed, and even more embarrassed she headed for the gardens.

In the gardens she ran into some of the staff from the previous evening who, having assured her they were fit, and well-stretched were now stiff and lumbering from the trampolining session the evening before. Daffy was feeling muscles she hadn't known she had - there'd been a Trustees meeting, apparently. Andy only had a vague idea about who they were and what they did - there were the governors, and the trustees, and they weren't all the same thing.

She smiled, and went for a wander through the grounds, as it was far too warm to be inside. The site was pretty, and she wandered at will, getting a feel for the place, and watching people disembark from the train and head to the san.

She suddenly realised she was in the Heads' private gardens and would have left, but she saw Margot on a bench. She was unnaturally still, and Andrea was alarmed. She knew about the Head's epilepsy, and watched her carefully. Walking to the bench, she addressed Margot with an apology, only to get a grunt. Her eye-lids were closed, and fluttering unnaturally, and her hands were rubbing against each other, chafing red and raw.
Suddenly the eyes opened, but she didn't seem to be there. Instead, she was climbing on the bench, and flapping her arms. Alarmed, Andrea spoke to her, spotting her, so that she if she fell, the fall would be controlled.

"How long has she been like this?" The voice of Rachel Coussens cut through the concentration.
"Not sure. I only found her by accident. Is this a seizure?"
"Yes. Now, if you don't mind, I'll take care of her." In a gentler voice, Matron addressed Margot, who responded to the simpler questions, and gradually came out of the seizure. Feeling she wasn't wanted, Andrea fled rapidly.

A couple of hours later, she was hurt to overhear herself being criticised for her uselessness, and lack of head in a crisis. Of course, had she been a Chaletian, she would have known that shutting her ears would have been a better idea, but she carried on, and really didn't like what she heard.

You're not ruthless or anything, are you Angel?! Poor Andy, things are just getting worse and worse. Please let something good happen to her or I will cry (only the tears will probably freeze on my face).

*decides she is rapidly succumbing to hypothermia and that a nice warm bed and book (The Last Battle nearly finished hurrah) is a good idea*

*waves and hopes there will be plenty more story when i return tomorrow*
