I'd like to claim that it wasn't because of a voyeurstic and somewhat morbid fascination with the 'Siamese Twins', but rather because I was interested (from a literary point of view) to see how an unknown author, in his first novel, handled the challenge of writing the story of the conjoined twins from the viewpoint of one twin.
