Close passing by H748 FMJ, threats

At about 1400 today I was riding around Mitcham's Corner towards
University Cycles.  As I approached the shop, I signalled my intention
to stop (left arm extended), braked, and pulled in.  Just as I
dismounted, a white van passed me with mere inches to spare and came
to a stop right in front of me.

I shouted `Oi!'.

The driver got out of the van and started to remonstrate with me.  He
threatened me with violence in various ways.  My notes say that he
said `I don't give a fuck I'll knock your head in'.  He said he was a
`gypsy' and that `there'll be thousands of us'.  The passenger got out
and also threatened me, saying `I will put you on your face'.  There
were several other threats of various kinds, but these are the ones I
have recorded in my notes taken at the time.

The driver also got out his own camera (cameraphone I think) and took
a picture of me with the implication that he'd and his friends would
find me and do me harm later.


It is unfortunate that the audio track has nothing really audible on
it.  You can hear my shout of `oi!' and at one point you can hear me
saying `I've got you on camera'.

Reported to police

They say they will send someone to take a statement.

Police visited, took videos

The police came round and talked to me about this incident.
I described it, showed the PC the videos, and gave them a copy on CD.
