27.4.07 Traffic island, KU51 RXF cuts me up At around 8:30pm on Friday the 27th of April I was riding along Chesterton Lane from Mitcham's Corner towards the bottom of Castle Hill. I rode at around 35kph, and the incident happened towards the bend and hill around behind Madgadele College. I foolishly gave the car behind a chance to overtake, as we came to the space between the line of parked cars, and the new obstructive traffic island. Unfortunately the driver didn't accelerate fast enough. When I saw that the car wasn't going to complete the overtake safely I signalled right (at about 0:00:09s in the video) and then shouted `look out' several times; the driver could easily have abandoned the overtaking manouvre but chose not to. As a result they cut me up. I caught up with the car at the traffic lights, and told the driver they cut me up, but they were impassive. (I'm told that in the video it looks like I might be riding on the pavement at the end. In fact, I stop at the kerb to dismount and then wheel the bike to its parking spot.)
