Teramachi Dori (“Temple Town Street”) originally had... OK, you can guess. All the temples were moved here in the 1500s to keep them under control; now it's the heart of Kyoto's shopping district.
A park close to the conference hotel. Also close to the conference centre where the Kyoto climate talks were held.
Wildlife around the conference hotel.
Kyoto railway station and its immediate surroundings. The station also contains a hotel, two shopping arcades, an eleven-floor department store, two floors of restaurants, various municipal offices and a roof garden. The huge illuminated staircase runs from something like the fourth floor to the eleventh (there are escalators up the side for sensible people who don't want to climb that many stairs). It's hard to get a feel for the scale of the main hall from the photographs: look for people!
