The unused land outside Alexandra Tower has been turned into a
temporary concrete terminal for the new cruise terminal building.
It's not problematically noisy but it can get a bit dusty when it's
windy.
Sunday, 6th May
Coots' nest
I was looking out over Prince's Half-Tide Dock, heard noises below
and discovered this coots' nest on a mat of weeds and litter.
Although I was very close to it — the water level is probably
five feet below the fence I was leaning over — I'm quite sure
the birds were not at all upset by my presence. Coots get very noisy
if they think something is threatening their nest and the two adults
didn't make a sound.

Since Liverpool Council has agree to pay back the government and
European money it was given to build the Cruise Terminal, the
conditions imposed for accepting that money no longer apply. Cruises
can now start and end at the Cruise Terminal and today saw the first
departure.
