The gig was at LA2 (Or whatever it wants to call itself now) and we got there about on time. The openers were Killing Miranda, and they started a bit early so we were taken by suprise by the opening bars of Discotheque Necronomicon.
Fairly good set from Killing Miranda, though there was only a small proportion of the crowd really getting into it, not that suprising given that it was a Kerrang! promoted gig, and they were second support. If yuo haven't seen KM live before you should, they are very very good. It was tight and rocked. I think that they delivered a slightly harder set than usual, perhaps pushing in that direction to appease the Kerrang! lot that were there, but that just might be me making it up. Wether it was or not, fun was had in the mosh at the front. There were some of the usual keen Killing Miranda fans up there, with a lot of the audience standing back and watching us get on with it.
Spit was dedicated to one of the stranger people in the front of the gig :) It is a shame that you occasionally find people who really aren't interested at the front of gigs.
Queen Adreena were quite interesting. Definitely "Band on the edge of a nervous breakdown" is a description that comes to mind. The lead singer came in on crutches and therre was a chair on the stage. We thought that this might be for her to sit on, but she seemed to stand on it quite a lot and flail around an awful lot for someone that should be one leg short. The energy given into the performance was absolutely phenomenal, and because of that alone they were great. They might not come out well recorded though.
Mortiis. I shall admit not expecting much, but they were not as bad as I was expecting, and I was forgiving because of the singers nose and ears. They didn't really inspire the audience, with their wanderings between dark metal and EBM taking in many things in between.
Good gig, I bounced around, but more at the start than at the end.
