Which Homecoming shard/server should I pick?

The first thing to say is that server transfers are plentiful and
free. You're not nailing your colours to the mast - at least until you
have a supergroup base, because they can't be transferred.

That said:

Torchbearer was the first Homecoming server; inasmuch as Homecoming
has bittervets, they probably play there. Pick it if you want to play
with those of the first players who haven't transferred out.

Excelsior currently has the highest population. It also has stupid
political arguments in General chat. Pick it if you want to get teams
as quickly as possible, and especially if you can never resist someone
who's wrong on the Internet.

Indomitable is the unofficial PVP server. Pick it if you like PVP, or
acrimonous dick-sizing contests about PVP.

Everlasting is the unoffical RP server [1]. Pick it if you like
roleplaying, or maybe just catgirls.

Reunion is in the EU. Pick it if you're in that sort of timezone, or
if the fact that I have literally never seen a political argument in
General chat appeals.

Reunion also has a Praetorian supergroup ("The Praetorians", leader
"Remote-Control Man") and multiple level 50 Praetorians (ie, characters
who have never become hero/villain). If other servers have anything
similar, I haven't heard about it. If you want teams goldside, it could be
worth trying Reunion.

[1] "Unofficial" in the sense that there's no rules being enforced
about picking appropriate character names, out of character
conversation, etc.
