Memo from Ruth Scadden, chief engineer on the Yellop Dam project on Varon, to Richard Rosie, senior administrator in Research Division with responsibility for counter-research. Dated a couple of weeks before the second Bodenhorn Chronicle article. Shown to the PCs as part of their briefing.
From: Ruth Scadden To: Richard Rosie Dear Richard, I am forced to write to you direct because my contributions to the internal report on the current situation have been censored by one I do not have to name. I must INSIST that you institute a Vega inquiry into the current situation here. We have suffered a SERIOUS act of sabotage and it has been completely whitewashed by the locals, in conjunction with elements of the local Vega management team. If you do not send external investigators charged to get to the bottom of this on the next ship, then I shall be forced to take DRASTIC ACTION to protect myself and the Vega employees I am responsible for from the saboteurs. I remind you that the teleport station, the major part of the Vega-Varon deal that the company has pinned such hopes on, RELIES on the Yellop Dam hydroelectric plant. I think we both know what would happen if the project failed. Ruth
