"Everyone ready?" asked Jens
"We've been ready for hours. We're still ready. Is it actually going to work this time?" said Dan.
"Yes I'm sure. Almost sure. Here we go."
Jens fiddled with the control panel, and the engines fired. Everyone was pushed back in their couches by the acceleration.
"At last," muttered Dan. "How long to teleport range?"
"Three hours at this acceleration, then five days under 1g. Oh my god, I didn't tell the passengers!" Jens reached for the panel.
"Too late now- what are you doing?"
The engines stopped abruptly. Jens undid his seatbelt and pushed off in the direction of the bridge door. Dan fumbled for his stunner.
"You can't go out there to help them. They know you're working with us."
"They could be hurt! And anyway, what do you think they'll do? We're still going to take them to Yed Prior, so they haven't got anything to gain by making trouble. They're just passengers."
"Passengers who've managed to break into one of the holds already. There's something going on here. We had to move the plan up after Marian starting poking around in your cabin- what made her do that? Did you tell her something?"
"Of course not. And you can't stop me going out there, you need me to fly the ship." Jens opened the bridge door. Dan fired.
