These include Linux machines providing web serving, routing, and network monitoring, Netware 5 machines providing file, application, mail, and print services to all members of college and various database servers on Windows NT server. I was closely involved in a recent project to redesign the College website, installing and configuring a new server running Apache on Linux; giving technical advice to the web design committee; and writing CGI applications for the new site. Another major project has been improving the security of the College's network by implementing network monitoring, configuring network hardware and setting up a private port-blocking router. The recent NT workstation rollout in Pembroke involved my creating standard 'builds' of Windows NT which were then replicated to nearly 100 workstations for students and staff. I also provide training and day-to-day support to users of a very wide range of ability levels, and organise connecting students' own machines to the college network.
