+This book has a dedication to Dr Georgios Herodontes of Bologna “ Without whom, I would not be the man I am today.” The main section of the work us an excellent translation of the previously lost work by Aristotle, De Poetica. In it, Aristotle offers an account of what he calls poetry in terms of differences in music rhythm, harmony, meter and melody, goodness in the characters and how the narrative is presented. The final section of the book is notes on the translation, this both explains the context that the work needs to be read in and carefully gives the specific words used by Aristotle and explains how Dr Kaloethes reached the decision he did on which word in Latin to use.
