   1 This is a short list of things that needs to be done.  They are in no specific
   2 order.  I will gladly accept patches for any of these items, or any other stuff
   3 people offer up.

   9 - more documentation (can never have too much.)
  10 - better partition support (it's a hack right now, maybe new libsysfs changes
  11   can help out a lot here.)
  12 - option to always add all partitions.  This is needed to properly handle
  13   devices with removable media.
  14 - install the proper init.d script based on the distro we are running on.
  15 - persuade the distro packagers to submit their changes (or just steal them
  16   if we can find them...)
  17 - allow database to be queried by other programs
  18 - split program into two pieces (daemon and helper that sends events to it).
  19   This will allow us to keep track of sequences, and lots of other needed
  20   stuff.
  21 - keep track of current permissions on devices when daemon shuts down.
  22 - better permission handling
  23 - create kernel name to devfs name config file so that all of the devfs users
  24   will have an upgrade path.
  25 - do early boot logic (putting udev into initramfs, handle pivot-root,
  26   etc.)
  27 - lots of other stuff...
  28 - actually use the BUS= value to determine where the LABEL rule should look
  29   (right now it's ignored, and we only look in the current sysfs directory.)
  30   This is needed, for example, to look at the usb device's serial number of a
  31   usb-storage device, instead of the scsi device's sysfs directory for the
  32   serial number.
