Wikipedia is hell. But they've tweaked their Conflict of Interest
policies (or at least made an effort to make editors understand that
someone editing an article about themself is not necessarily evil) so
you, (or anyone else who wants) could edit the articles to correct the
details.
I guess reliable¹ sources would be useful.
¹ for wikipedia values of reliable, which often include unreliable.
