I specifically discuss the hijacking of routes which occurred when ARIN
did not check documents carefully enough; and explain other issues with
BGP routing
see the whole of #3.5, not just the bit about traceroutes :)

Hopefully not! Besides training on simple traceability, some parts of
the UK police have availed themselves of advanced training on BGP, which
should leave them in a much better position to understand these issues
and how database information can be validated on the real Internet
