My direct dial number corresponds to the first 6 digits of many British
Gas account numbers in the area (ie the bill account number, not a phone
number at all). At certain times of the year I get several people a day
phoning up to query their bill, and managing to stop them in full flow
before they finish their life story can be quite tricky...
