Indeed, though it affects the police more widely. They want mass media 
coverage when it suits them, but want to keep the mass media away 
otherwise.

An example outwith London was the recent political operation by the 
police to blacken the name of the aid convoy to Palestine and reduce 
the amount of money it collected. I doubt very much if the first 
photograph on <http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1145422/Terror-
police-arrest-men-travelling-motorway-North-West.html> was taken 
without the help of the police, indeed they were probably actively 
involved in having it taken, as they have been actively involved in 
having photographs taken at other political policing events. The police 
were not so keen to get the mass media to report that the victims of 
this political operation were released without charge. The press 
release at <http://www.vivapalestina.org/alerts/190209.htm> is worth 
reading about how this smear looks to those outside the tent.

And the Home Office believes that these idiots can be trusted with my 
data. They can prise my keys from my cold dead fingers.
