I'm sure they have dozens of the things, if not hundreds. I 
suspect I know far more about such things than most senior civil 
servants, high-ranking policemen,  or government ministers. But 
I wouldn't want to rely on that infrastructure in an operational 
situation. Nor if I only had five or ten minutes to make my 
point to some VIP or other. And this was presumably both.

He's there to talk to people, not fuss around with cables and 
knobs (or more likely wait till some underling has). If he needs 
to show whoever he is meeting some digital display or data files 
he would (I hope, but honestly don't expect) have them sent to 
them beforehand over appropriately secure channels so they can 
look at them (or have their minions look at them)  and not waste 
time at the meeting.
