"We take DNA samples to exclude people from our investigations. We
keep DNA samples for ever to continue excluding probably innocent
people from all future investigations".

Were 140 people, detained and released without charge, all 'DNA sampled'?

How big would a full UK DNA database be, and how easy / hard would it
be to secure that against misuse?
