Leo Cooper alludes to such a thing in his book `Between Silk and
Cyanide', a method by which a security check could be imparted to an
agent in such a way that the person passing it over has no knowledge
of it. He claims it's the only part of the book that the authorities
requested redacted, sixty-odd years after the events described. Yes,
it's another member of the genre of `how I won the war single-handed,
my main problem not being the Axis powers but my own incompetent and
at times downright mendacious colleagues, many of whom were
intellectually inferior to me but possessed of educations from The
Right Schools', best exemplified by the memories of RV Jones and D
Bennett. But it would seem an obscure point to make if it were not
true.
