AFAIR as my wife describing it to me, our son has to give his right
thumbprint and initial letter of his name. The librarian then sees the
name of the child. In the absence of a good right thumb print they use
the left. (As in his case, where he didn't have a right thumb print at
the time owing to a chronic inability to follow instructions not to play
with the cigarette lighter in the car.)
