I think Richard and Nicholas's point about the connected and  
unconnected net is a very good one.  I wanted to send an MP3 of my  
kids playing some music to their several grandparents recently, so I  
just called the file randomstring.mp3 and mailed my parents and my in- 
laws www.batten.eu.org/randomstring.mp3.  It's good enough for the  
purposes at hand, as there's an explicit index.html in the root which  
means that random files are publicised.
