Indeed - I was photographed on (domestic) arrival at Gatwick this morning,
as I entered the building. Although I haven't been out through Gatwick for
a couple of months, I have recently been photographed when I present my
boarding card (as you are transiting from a long queue to present your
boarding card to a long queue to go through security scan and search.) I
suspect this will be the same (process and mind-numbing wait) on Friday.
They scan the bar-code and check your photograph when you either enter the
departure gate or get to domestic luggage retrieval.
