And - totally OT - if you are an ex mathematician I'm an ex physicist. A
recent diagram published by 'Burning Our Money' [1] claims Engineering
and Physical & Env Sciences graduates do extremely well (bettered only
by medicos) in the gross additional lifetimes earnings stakes, but I
reckon that its those who go to jobs where they rarely if ever use their
specific subject skills that bump up the figures. No wonder we have a
shortage of technical people in the jobs market - pay rates are too low
(have just heard that IPS is looking for a biometric specialist at £40K).
