As an ex-mathematician, and at least as drunk as Peter, I can be equally
pedantic: what notation is it that uses right to left lexical
precedence for operators ^ and -? Usually one assumes either left to
right precendence or tha ^ takes precedence over -, which gives
approximately 1 for the quoted formula (1 less one part in about 4
billion) instead of approximately 0.5.
