Correct me when I'm wrong.
- There are the National Data Registrars executing National Data
protection Laws derived from the European Privacy Directive
- There is the European article 29 committee that expressed recently
its views on the patient data in EHR's.
So what can the 'medical mob' do?
When these official bodies do their work properly they have to work
within the law, don't they?
Or am I too naive?
In addition.
Other parts of the 'medical mob' are in the process to produce ISO/
tc215 documents (standards in the end) that deal with Archiving and
Pseudonymisation.
And then there is the European (and soon ISO) EN 13606 EHR standard.
In part 4 there is a way to specify the Patient Mandate for
information stored in EHR's.
This Patient Mandate is conformant to the CEN/ISO/tc215 22600 standard
for Privacy Management and Access Control.
European experts play important roles in CEN and ISO.
The standards are there.
The legal framework is there.
What is missing?
Awareness with the other 'medical mob', industry and politicians?
