TBH David I really don't think it matters much any more. I don't think 
anybody believes a single thing these people tell us any longer. 
Official statements are either self-evidently lies, or are contradicted 
by events within a matter of days, or are so tainted by the speaker's 
proven record of dishonesty, that they are just laughed at.

It's a bit like the last year or two of John Major's government. It 
didn't matter what they did, everyone simply shook their heads in 
disbelief that this crew were somehow still hanging on there, long after 
most people had dismissed them as irrelevant clowns.
