He is referring to systems both now and in the future. He makes the 
assertion that these things are used to fight crime. This is clearly a 
bogus claim as RIP covers much more than crime. He has therefore misled 
the Westminster parliament.

The question is whether he knowlingly misled the Westminster 
parliament, or whether he simply repeated lies given to him by 
officials. I have no idea what the answer to that question is. I have 
asked, it will be interesting to see whether a reply is forthcoming.
