But (to pre-empt David H) in our public sector they take the money and
walk away when the time for tears comes. It is noticeable that the
current ideas for updating employment legislation include softening the
current rigid procedures and record keeping that an employer has to go
through before being able to legally sack someone for falling down on
the job.
