One Labour MP, who is sound on most things but voted for "identity"
cards and sounded genuinely surprised to discover that was a black mark
against him which could never be removed, has said that in light of the
loss of data on roughly half the population in one go he was
reconsidering his position. I must prod him again sometime.
Unfortunately those that pull MPs' strings, officials and those
whishing to make lots of money selling staff and gadgets to government,
are still very strong and will continue with their attempts to make the
UK a worse place to live. I'm still not sure those of us with right on
our side are strong enough to defeat these slimeballs.
