The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, but O2 are offering me
ADSL 2+ 20Mbps down (I'm getting ~100% of 8Mbps so I should see at
least some of the ADSL 2+ benefit) and, most handily, 2.5Mbps up
(ditto) plus a static IP for less than fifteen quid. I can't quite
understand their prices: the web page says 22 quid less a fiver if
you're an O2 customer for mobile, but when I punched in my details it
quoted me 14.40 or something. So I pulled their arms off there and
then, and I'm deferring giving them my mac until a few days prior to
the end of my BT contract.
Does anyone happen to know if I'm being over cautious here? So if I
have a BT contract expiring 4Jan, and I give O2 my mac now, will BT
delay the process until 4Jan (right answer) or do it asap and then
charge me for early termination of my contract?
