I suspect that in fact the leveragible income (ie the amount of the  
disposable income that's susceptible to advertising) is actually  
higher than in more affluent houses.  Narrower range of purchases,  
less cynicism about media, greater awareness of branding (as is often  
pointed out, the affluent buy own-brand biscuits, the poor buy  
branded), etc, etc...
