The BMA certainly has a number of great flaws in its systems. It threw 
out a well thought out, evidence based, policy on cycle helmets in 
favour of one "thought" out by the helmet lobby. This "decision" was 
reached after a very short "debate" (five minutes or so) at the end of 
a conference. I consider them to be quacks.
