Very interesting.  One wonders quite what obligation is placed upon  
118XXX operators to engage in data retention (they're not, after all,  
ISPs or PATSen).    And even if they did retain data, I wonder what  
they've got?  Could they tie inbound calls to outbound calls?  And  
what happens if you dial from a call box, or with number withheld,  
and ask to be put through?
