The amusing bit is ``Treasury minister Paul Boateng admitted last week
that his department doesn't know how much has been wasted since Labour
came to power. In response to a written question from Labour MP Derek
Wyatt, Boateng said: 'The information requested is not held centrally
and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.'''
So, Paul, if you can't hold information centrally, and can't obtain it
when asked, why the hell should the rest of us? Isn't it convenient
that if the answer will be embarrassing, the government suddenly can't
find the numbers?
