Anyone know more about this BT "uk identity verification" scheme?

A bank statement with her name on from another bank? [Recursion sets in
at this point]. I do know that apparently Credit Card and mobile phone
statements aren't good enough. Too easy to steal an identity to get one,
I suppose.

But they'll believe utility companies, who have *never* asked me for any
kind of verification of my identity. Perhaps TPTB think we are all too
stressed when we move house to bother about lying about our name?

Anyway, I've looked at my Electricity bill, and there's nothing remotely
like a "meter point asset number" on it. Just a customer number and
something called a Supply Number (an 8-element grid). Neither bears any
relation to the serial number on the meter. In any event it's addressed
to just "Mr & Mrs Perry" - good job our surname isn't Smith, or we could
be anybody!
